Each short course offers participants a means to assess and evaluate their individual experience, and in certain circumstances to meet the learning requirements of their funders. We do this by following the principle of setting learning outcomes or course objectives, and measuring progress achieved by the trainees.
Assignments include written exercises such as essays, presentations using software packages such as Powerpoint, or practical group based exercises which may involve fieldwork and the writing of short reports. Again, the purpose of the assignments is to facilitate a process of self assessment and evaluation of progress towards learning outcomes. CAZS-NR teaching staff will provide written comments about the assignments as a route towards this.
